Arthur A. Cassel

Arthur Cassel, 85, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Newington, CT, died on Monday, March 10, 2025, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late William and Doris Cassel of Waterbury, CT. Art graduated from Crosby High School and UConn. He was a proud Husky and enjoyed following both the men's and women's basketball teams and UConn football throughout his life. After college, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in the Hartford area for over 40 years, starting his career at Ernst and Ernst and retiring from his own practice in 2007.

More than anything, Art adored his family. He leaves his college sweetheart and beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra Waingrow Cassel and his cherished daughters Karen Cassel (Brad Prescott) of San Francisco, CA and Debra Cassel of Boston, MA. Art also shared a special relationship with his brother Jules Cassel, sister-in-law Rita, niece Lauren Schenk (Tyler) and was thrilled to become a "great" uncle to Liam and Julian, all of Wilton, CT. He also leaves close first cousin, Ethel Kramer, of Newington. Art was a member of Congregation B'Nai Sholom for over 50 years. It was there that he made many lifelong friends that would become his extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregation B'nai Sholom Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT. Jordan Lane Ext. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
