Daniel "Danny" Gerber, 85, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away peacefully Friday
evening, October 28th, 2022.
Danny was born and raised in South Philadelphia, surrounded by a close-knit
community that fostered life-long friendships which he held dear. He is survived
by his wife of 58 years, Dolores "Dee" Gerber, his two lovely daughters, Risa
(Ryan) Pardue and Mara Gerber, and his wonderfully kind grandson Micah Pardue.
Danny graduated Drexel University in Philadelphia with a degree in Engineering
and went on to achieve a Master's in Business Administration from Dowling College
in New York. He was an accomplished engineer who gifted his talents to many
companies over his highly successful career, including FedEx and Wakefern Food
Corporation, a parent company of ShopRite. In addition to his engineering career,
Danny and Dee owned and operated a retail shop in the South Street Seaport in
New York City, which drew tourists and residents alike for their eclectic and fun
selection of products.
Over the years Danny and Dee called many places home, including Freehold, New
Jersey, Sudbury, Massachusetts, and Marlboro, New Jersey, before retiring in Lake
Worth, Florida. He was a highly active and enthusiastic outdoorsman who enjoyed
hiking, camping, biking, and skiing. There wasn't a hobby or a sport that he would
back away from and greatly enjoyed running, playing tennis, roller skating, and
most recently pickle ball.
In Lake Worth he found himself, once again, surrounded by a close-knit community
those fostered friendships, where he enjoyed entertaining, playing card games, and
frequenting the pool with Dee and their fellow Bellagio residents.
Danny was a strong-willed and genuine man who wanted nothing but the best for
his wife, his daughters, his grandson, and all of the family and friends in his life
