Tribute to my wife, Diane Johnson, 1945-2025

Accomplishment is often unstated, just assumed when you live with someone for a long time. In the play, "Death of a Salesman," Willy Lohman says, "So attention must be paid." Let me tell you something about Diane Johnson. She was a gregarious, compassionate, spiritual, and creative woman. Diane passed after a long illness on April 22, 2025.

Vocationally, she functioned as a top executive in two publishing companies, one of which I owned. She managed staff and clients with consummate skill and a smile that flooded the room. She was assertive, meticulous in thought and action, and able to navigate the world of finance and friendships.

In retirement, Diane Johnson worked at Weight Watchers and founded a fitness club focused on body, mind, and spirit. That was Diane's slogan. She discovered people who shared expertise with her club members, becoming a leader in our community.

Diane speaks her mind. She engaged with the famous and forgotten equally. She had the insight of a therapist and the instincts of one's best friend.

What's more, Diane paid attention. This remarkable, beautiful woman managed two book clubs, one in Baywinds, our community, and another in Lake Worth: The Page Turners. Her sense of fashion, food, and friendship is legendary, and Diane is a good friend who exudes affection, kindness, and empathy. I deeply loved and admired Diane for nearly 45 years.
