Gladys Resnik passed away on January 6, 2022, in Delray Beach Florida. She was born Gladys Koenig on June 10, 1934, and grew up in Bronx, NY. An excellent student, she skipped two terms and graduated from James Monroe High School a year early. Her education continued when her children were in college and she earned her degree as a Paralegal Assistant, Summa Cum Laude, from Nassau Community College.

She met the love of her life while visiting her late brother Walter at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey on Thanksgiving weekend 1951. For Walter's buddy Sheldon, it was love at first sight. Shelly and Gladys wrote letters back-and-forth throughout his military service. The photograph she sent along with one of those letters is still how he sees her.

Like many young married couples of the time, they moved out to Long Island, bought a house, and raised a family complete with the PTA, Little League, and Girl Scouts. She forged lifelong friendships while she was an active member of the Hicksville Jewish Center Sisterhood. Other interests included family vacations which usually had an educational component, boating on Long Island's south shore, and traveling with dear friends. As a career bookkeeper, she managed the finances and pension fund for a medical practice for more than two decades. She was kind and generous and supported many health-related and Jewish-based causes. In retirement, Gladys and Shelly escaped the cold winter months to Delray Beach where she volunteered for many years as the Treasurer of the Valencia Falls Chapter of The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research.

In all of life 's ups and downs, with all the people, the friends and family who were in and out of her life, the happiest and proudest moments were those spent with and talking about her grandchildren. Gladys is survived by her loving and devoted husband Shelly of 67 years; their children David (Andra) and Risa (Ross) Ostrow; grandchildren Michael (Amanda) and Alyssa, and Peter and Eric Ostrow; great grandson Tyler; and three generations of nieces and nephews.
