Herbert Brezak was born June 18, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away on September 12, 2023.  Even though he had moved to Florida eight years before, he always said he was a Brooklynite.  He was the youngest of six children, and the only boy.  Two of his sisters were ready to be married by the time he was born, and he became an uncle before he was five.  He was a wonderful, caring son and the person his sisters, nieces and nephews could always rely on.
The last few years of his life were medically difficult for him, but when he ended up in hospice care, he wanted to come home.  We respected his wishes, and he was thrilled that so many people came to visit him.  His sister-in-law, her children and grandchildren, as well as his sons, their wives, and all of his grandchildren visited too.  Friends came too.  Many relatives and friends from other cities called to speak with him. Even nurses who had treated him for years, as well as more recent caregivers, called.                                                                              But none of this was surprising because Herb was a man who touched everyone he met, He made friends easily and kept them forever.  Several friends said they now feel they have lost a member of their family.  His sons' childhood friends loved and admired him and he considered them all family.  He made such an impression on people with his loyalty and devotion that his sons have made him a role model and have shown those same qualities.  It always made him very proud that they learned the most important lesson:  caring for friends and family is the first priority in life.
