KORMAN, IRWIN

Irwin Korman, 91, passed away on March 23rd in Boca Raton Florida after a valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Irwin was born to Ruth and Julius Korman on July 7th, 1929 in New York.  Growing up in the Bronx, eldest of four siblings, Irwin enjoyed a very active and happy life. As a teenager, he was an excellent athlete. He played minor league baseball and semi-pro football.  He was called up to serve in the U.S. Army, between 1951-1953 in the 45th Infantry Oklahoma Division, which took him to fight in the Korean war.  He was a sniper and fought in the long and ferocious Battle of Old Baldy located next to Pork Chop Hill.

Upon his return home and honorable discharge , he worked in New York City where he started a lifelong career in air conditioning which included sales, design installation and servicing, where his clientele included many of New York's, most famous figures in theatre and politics. During that time, he became good friends with an owner of a European car dealership, which started his love of foreign sports cars.  Some of his is favorites included the Hillman Minx, Triumph MGB convertible, and his favorite the Iso Rivolta.

He loved attending sporting events at Madison Square Garden, where he often took his brother Alan. With a friend in the box office, he always managed to get some of the best seats in      the house.

On November 30th of 1969, Irwin married his devoted wife, his best friend , and lifelong partner Natalie in New York.  They shared a love for traveling, cruising, and finding the best places      to dine. This took them all over Europe, Africa, South America, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

They particularly enjoyed antique shopping, discovering and purchasing unusual objects of art, with which they furnished their apartment in Kew Gardens NY and later their home in Boca Raton Florida.

They always made a point to visit family in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving where they could also celebrate their anniversary.

Irwin is survived by his wife, Natalie and brother Alan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ruth Korman brother, Marvin Korman and sister Beverly Green

Services will be held on Monday - April 12th, 2021 12:30 p.m. at Rubin Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach Florida
