Jacqueline (Yovel) Gettes
October 16, 1934 - December 31, 2022
Jackie Gettes, 88, of Deerfield Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on
December 31, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of
57 years, Herbert. She was a loving mother to Eric (Lorri), Beth, Neil,
Roberta and Gail (Scott) Shire and an adored nanny to Rachael, Hannah,
Emma, Solomon, Samantha, Jeffrey and Madelyn.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jackie and Herb moved to Woodbury, NJ to raise
their children. She worked for Archway School for many years in a number
of capacities and impacted many lives. The school was founded in 1965 by
her sister and brother- in-law to address and provide services to children
and adults with special needs. It was there she helped develop Just Kids, a
before and after school childcare program that still exists. She was a
passionate child advocate and was very proud of the success of Just Kids.
Archway was a big part of her life and ours as well. She will live on in the
memories of those who loved her and the countless lives she enriched.
For those of you who may be inclined, we have set up a memorial fund with
the Archway School as they celebrate their 55th year. Please follow the

A funeral service will take place at 11:30 am at Eternal Light Memorial
Gardens, at 11520 State Road 7 in Boynton Beach, FL. Shiva will be
observed in Henderson, NV at a later date.
