Obituary

Jeffrey Allan Garchik, a resident of Pompano Beach, Florida formerly of Hurleyville New York, passed away in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 22, 2026. He was 76 years old.

Born on April 2, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, Jeffrey's family moved to Sullivan County when he was thirteen and resided in Liberty. Jeffrey lived a life marked by warmth, a spirit of adventure, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.

For many years, Jeff worked alongside his brother and father operating Sullivan Food Products in Hurleyville, New York. He was also instrumental in building the town's only convenience store and gas station. In his later years, Jeff and Evie relocated to South Florida, where he built a successful career as a realtor.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Jeff was a true adventurer at heart. He held a passion for aviation as a pilot of both airplanes and helicopters. He loved playing golf and spending time with friends, and was known as generous, kind, always fun and full of life. Above all, his family and close friends were the absolute center of his world.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn; his three sons, Brian and his wife Liz, Alan, and Andrew; his brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Eileen Garchik; and his brother-in-law, Michael Schiff. He is remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews, Adam and Rebecca (Matthew and Ethan), Scott and Andrea (Ben and Noah), Eric and Samantha (Julian and Ava), Reia and Mike (James and Patrick), Lila, Dara and Jared, David & Logan and Cori (Asher and Emersyn).

He was predeceased by his parents, Cy and Lynn Garchik.

A memorial service will be held at Rubin Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 28th, 2026 at 4:00pm, located at 7340 Boynton Beach Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33437. Anyone unable to attend the service in person but would like to view a live broadcast online please click and open the link below:
