Julian (Julie) Scheferman passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the ripe old age of 95.  He is survived by his sons Michael & Andy (Julie) and his grandchildren, Daniel (Brittany), Charles, Rachael and Sam.

Julie Scheferman was born in the Bronx, NY, and grew up in Brooklyn, NY.  He served in the Marines at the tail end of WWII and then completed his Bachelor's degree at Pace University.  He was active in sports in his younger years, playing both baseball and basketball and later coaching basketball.  He was an avid boater and water skier.  Julie was incredibly handy and built an entire attached garage and a full finished basement for the house where he lived with his wife, Joan Scheferman, who passed away in 2020.  Joan and Julie were married for 60 years.  Julie had a very successful career as a textile salesman for decades before retiring in 1994.  They became snowbirds first and then decided to move to Florida full time in 2014.  Julie was a commanding presence, a force to be reckoned with and often the life of the party.  He was active in Temple Avodah of Oceanside NY as an usher, board member and liaison to the Hebrew School.  He was an avid investor who believed in buying sound American companies with good fundamentals.    He was a brother to Harold and Freddie, a husband to Joan, a father to Michael and Andy and a Grandfather to Daniel, Charles, Rachael and Sam.  He will surely be missed by all.
