Obituary for Marcia Jacobson

Marcia Pearl (Goldfein) Jacobson, age 90, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Marcia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marcia was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, one of four daughters, to Etta and Henry Goldfein. Marcia married Sherman Jacobson in Newark, New Jersey in 1952. She graduated from Newark State College with a bachelors in elementary education. She influenced countless students as a wonderful and dedicated 4th and 5th grade teacher for many years in Fords, New Jersey. Marcia served on the Woodbridge, New Jersey township zoning board as Vice Chair and was actively involved in the local Democratic party. She remained an avid political junkie all her life. Like so many people from New Jersey, Marcia and Sherman moved to Florida after retiring.

Marcia is survived by her loving husband Sherman. She raised three children: George (Diana) Jacobson, Debbie (David) Braunstein, and Harriet (Ted) Pioquinto. Marcia is survived by six grandchildren: Samuel (Danielle) Jacobson, Matthew (Maria) LeVine, Emily (Roy) Ham, David (Emily Nyren) Pioquinto, Alexandra LeVine and Jason Pioquinto. She was also blessed to know and love four great grandchildren: Asher and Collier Jacobson and Lyla and Everett Ham. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sandra Sherman.

Marcia's family wishes to thank her caregivers, especially Breana Paul, who over the past few years, through their care, made it possible for Marcia to stay in the comfort of her home.

Marcia was so proud of her legacy, which is reflected in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will live on in the memories of those who loved her and the lives of those she enriched.

Funeral service for Marcia will be held at Temple Beth El - 333 SW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33432
