Maricela G. Valette Diaz, age 62, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 30th, 2022 after a long battle with Stage 4 Cancer. She was born December 21, 1959 in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic to Angel Valette and Rosa Mirtha Diaz. She eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Jose M. Tejeda, in December of 1986, emigrated to the United States in 1988, and was a long-term resident of New Jersey until she moved to Florida in 2017.

Maricela loved to love on people and create beautiful things. She did everything from designing and sewing clothing and costumes for her children, to creating beautiful decorations and displays for family events and businesses, to producing large scale reunions and banquets in NY, NJ, and her hometown in San Cristobal. Her hands were rarely still and she was always trying to find a way to serve others. She loved traveling, hosting parties, going on cruises, and most importantly, celebrating with her family and friends in unity.

For many years Maricela worked at UPS in both New Jersey and Florida. It suited her servant's heart to make sure Christmas presents, gifts, and other packages were delivered on time. She loved volunteering her time and presence for all types of charitable organizations and served as President of Reencuentro SanCristobalense NYC.

Her life was a living example of heart-centered service. She will always be remembered for being a peaceful warrior and inspiring connector of people, for her beauty, kindness, generosity, and humility, for spreading love and inspiration everywhere she went, for creating unforgettable event experiences, and for her dedicated service as a community role model and leader within many circles.

Maricela is survived by her mother Rosa Mirtha Diaz, her brother Angel S. Valette, brother Frank R. Valette and wife Maribel Grullon, brother Luis E. Valette and wife Marilyn Pena, brother Elvin W. Valette and wife Rafaelina Duverge, brother Milquiades D. Valette and wife Kenia Santana, sister Martha Valette and husband Ramon Caro; her husband Jose M. Tejeda and their three children, sons Josmar Tejeda and Alvin Tejeda, and daughter Josmauri Tejeda; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us celebrating her life Tuesday Oct. 4th between 5:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. for a memorial service at Rubin Memorial Chapel, 7340 Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
