Maxwell Louis "Mac" Weisberg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud son of Polish immigrants Abe and Polly Weisberg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26th at the age of 98.

At the age of 17, with permission from his parents, Mac enlisted in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. His military service took him across the globe – from New Guinea to the Philippines, Okinawa, Panama, Marseille, Naples, LeHavre, and beyond – fueling his love of travel and exploration while bravely serving his country.

Mac always had an enthusiastic, life-long thirst for knowledge. His inquisitive nature and insatiable curiosity led him to engage with everyone, asking questions and listening intently to answers – then asking more questions. He studied diligently to become a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and by the age of 45, headed a successful insurance agency selling policies in English, Spanish, and any other language that interested him. His dedication to his craft earned him membership in the Lifetime Million Dollar Round Table.

Mac was a devoted supporter of his wife Helen's long-standing commitment to the women's Zionist organization Hadassah. He became a Hadassah Associate and a major donor, reflecting his shared passion for the cause.

His family was his greatest source of pride. Mac often expressed his deep admiration for his children – Miriam, Mitchell, and Howard – and celebrated their diverse accomplishments. "I'm extremely proud of my kids," he would say. "Among them, they have eight degrees, six of which are post-graduate, and they pursue such diverse careers. That's something to celebrate!" He was equally proud of his six grandkids – Avra, Oscar, Ethan, Sammy, Julian, and Meghan – remarking on how each marched to the beat of their own drummer. "That's what makes life interesting."

An avid tennis player in his earlier years, Mac later enjoyed watching matches on television. A fan of Puccini, he enjoyed attending the opera and listening on the radio. Early in his retirement, Mac aspired to be a screenwriter, taking courses and writing prolifically. Reflecting on the venture, he said, "I'm glad I tried, for it gave me a new insight into the movie business and an understanding of what a rat race that part of entertainment is."

In 2005 at the age of 80, Mac discovered a passion and natural talent for sculpting, becoming quite accomplished in working with alabaster. His prolific works are treasured by family and friends, who proudly display them as a testament to his artistic talent.

Mac leaves behind his loving wife Helen, his cherished children, and his grandchildren. His legacy of curiosity, his zest for life, and his dedication and love for his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing.
