Rabbi has been the backbone and spiritual leader of Congregation L'Dor Va-Dor after taking over from his father Rabbi Sam Silver (z"l), founding rabbi and the creator of L'Dor Va-Dor, with his wife, Rabbi Barry's mother, Elaine Silver (z"l).

Rabbi Barry is the founder of rational approach to Judaism, Cosmic Judaism, an attorney, past Florida State representative, human rights activist, environmentalist, and so much more. He made his mark on world by standing up and speaking out on any and all subjects to make this world a better place for future generations. He recently won the fight to save and protect the Agricultural Reserve ("Ag Reserve") from further development. He has been standing up for women's rights, especially in the fight against the latest anti-abortion laws. Rabbi Barry has a proposal for peace for the war between Israel and Hamas and hoped to share this to two-state plan. Rabbi Barry was even named "Person of the Year" by the local chapter of the National Organization of Women, Palm Beach County (NOW) for his outstanding work and effort on behalf of women. Rabbi Barry fought with an untiring passion and strength for the environment, nature, animal and people's rights, and more.

Rabbi Barry, following in his dad's footsteps, has just authored a new book, "Cosmic Judaism - uniting Judaism and Science to enlighten the world", which will be available soon.

Rabbi was a family man and extremely proud of his angelic wife Francine and his two sons, Ari and Brandon, who gave him so much nachas. He was very close with his brothers, Lee (z"l), Josh, Noah, and Dan, his sister-in-law Natalie, and his myriad of nieces and nephews and cousins.

Rabbi Barry Silver is a man who will be remembered for time eternal for his life was led for all of us to have rights that could easily be usurped, for a better Planet Earth, for a better life, for a life filled with beauty, inspiration, love, and peace. He dedicated his life to all of us and will be mourned and celebrated by all who knew him, family, friends and even foe, for his words were always "agree to disagree agreeably".

Our most heartfelt and deepest condolences go out to all of his family and friends and all those whose lives have been touched by this very special man. Congregation L'Dor Va-Dor will honor Rabbi Barry's memory by continuing to serve, practice, and share his beliefs and teachings and spreading the word about his Cosmic Judaism, a rational representation of Judaism that the world and cosmos can accept.

A celebration of Rabbi Barry's life is planned for Sunday, March 24th, 2024 at the Rubin Memorial Chapel, 7340 Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach 33437 at 3:00 pm ET. Due to limitation of space in the chapel, we welcome those who wish to watch virtually through the link included below.
