Ronald (Ron) A. Friedman, 67, of Corning, NY passed away at home in Lake Worth, FL on November 11 2025 after a long illness. He was born on July 3, 1958, son of Norbert and Ingeborg (Hammel) Friedman in Queens, NY. Ron is survived by his wife Gloria (Scherr), daughter Ilene (Keegan Bailey) and son Jonathan (Jessica) as well as four amazing grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Larry Friedman. Ron and Gloria recently celebrated 45 years of marriage together.

After meeting in college, Ron and Gloria moved to Corning NY where they raised their family and lived on a wonderful property filled with a giant greenhouse, orchard, pond, garden and lots of grass to mow. Ron loved taking care of the land, but he was likely most known for his applesauce made from apples from his orchard as well as his homegrown and grated horseradish. He was also on a lifelong pursuit to perfect his great aunt's gefilte fish recipe.

Ron was a huge advocate for small businesses. He did everything he could to make sure his clients succeeded. He was always coming up with new ideas to share with his clients and more recently with his daughter for her business. After running DAMOMICS Computer Systems together for over 30 years, Ron and Gloria retired, splitting their time between Upstate NY and Florida. Ron, never the one to sit still, stayed active in retirement between travelling with Gloria on over 40 cruises, playing pickleball, tennis, taking walks, playing minigolf, volunteering as an usher at Bethel Woods, going to art shows, making food, or calling to check in on friends, former clients, and family near and far.

Ron had an appreciation of how precious life can be. After realizing his mom and brother both passed away at age 56, he decided to throw himself a large blowout 57th birthday party. All day long he had a huge smile on his face as friends and family traveled from all across the country to celebrate with him. Ron, his dad, Jonathan and Ilene (as well as others) danced late into the evening.

But if you really wanted to make Ron smile, you had to see him with his grandkids. Nothing made him happier than spending time with all four of them. He loved listening to their stories, receiving pictures of them and of course visiting.

He was the glue that kept family and friends connected, and his kindness will live on through everyone who loved him.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday November 13 at 3pm at South Florida Jewish Cemetery, Graveside 6081 S Congress Ave, Atlantis, FL 33462 followed by Shiva from 6-8pm at the Friedman Residence. Shiva will also be observed on November 14 from 12-4pm and November 15 from 6-8pm at the Friedman Residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or Hadassah.
