Theodore (Ted) Shelton

Passed away on September 23, 2026 after battling Multiple Myeloma. He is survived by his wife, Judith; son, Bryan and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren Bella and Grant. Interment will be at the South Florida National Cemetery with military honors on Thursday, October 1, following a private service. A celebration of life will be held at a later time for friends and other family members. 

Prior to his retirement, Ted was a professor at Cook College of Rutgers University, where he taught courses in water resource management and consulted with municipalities on their drinking water. He loved investing and watching the stock market; gardening and planting palm trees throughout his neighborhood; and playing softball and pool/billiards with his buddies. Always looking for a bargain, Ted frequented many garage and estate sales, often buying lots of great things he didn’t need. Lunch usually consisted of going wherever there was a coupon, disproving the adage that there’s no such thing as a free lunch. His favorite dining choice for lunch, however, was his beloved Wendy’s. Generous with his time, Ted would always lend a helping hand to others and was an accomplished Mr. Fixit, as long as you allowed him to do it his way!
