William Elliot Levine, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Known as "Bill" or "Billy" to those who knew and loved him, Bill was a proud native of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where he was born. Bill grew up in Perth Amboy but moved to Roselle for his senior year of high school. Although a graduate of Roselle High School, Bill never forgot his roots and remained connected to his home town. In later years, Bill lived in West Orange, and in Edison, New Jersey before retiring permanently to Boynton Beach, Florida.

Bill was an Air Force veteran and trained at Sampson Air Force base in New York. He served in Greenland where he worked as a dental technician.

Upon his return, Bill was a sales representative for McGreggor Sportswear, Eagle Shirts, DeWeese Designs, and New Jersey Stationary Supplies. He was the proud owner of a store in Orange, New Jersey called The Shirt Shelf.

Bill was an avid Mets fan, and enjoyed many different sports including skiing. For many years, he ran the 5K race in Millburn, New Jersey. In Florida, he was the Master of Ceremonies for many theater productions in his community, and he supported cancer research.

Predeceased by his parents, Irving and Dossie (Cohen) Levine, and his sister Estabelle Levine Fiverson, he was also predeceased by the love of his life Nancy Levine. Following an accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury, Bill unselfishly devoted the next 37 years of his life to caring and helping Nancy. Bill leaves behind his son Robert, daughter-in-law Patty and grandsons Jordan, Danny and Marc. He will be missed by great-grandchildren Bryson, Jackson and McKenna. He also leaves behind his step-daughter Lori, her daughter and son-in-law Rachael and John, and their children John, Wendy, Peter and Charles. He will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill will always be remembered for his hugs, love, his ready laugh, quick smile, and an unending stream of jokes.

Bill's funeral will be on Tuesday, July 23 at 1:00 PM at Menorah Chapels with interment at Beth Israel Cemetery. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
